Intro To Chanting Workshop

"Chanting reminds us that we are connected even when we feel alone." Join in community with a new monthly spring series the first Friday of each month with Sri Devi! This monthly workshop series will focus on popular Sanskrit mantras for your daily practice. Beginner friendly, any level of practice or knowledge welcome, and this is a wonderful way to raise your energy! Register Here.

Chanting can:

  • lower anxiety and stress

  • activate the parasympathetic nervous system, bringing you into a more relaxed state

  • develop concentration and focus

  • create new neural pathways

  • expand lung capacity and help to re-pattern the breath in a healthy way

In this monthly workshop series we'll:

  • learn the basic foundational principles of Vedic chanting

  • practice the sounds in the Sanskrit alphabet

  • learn a new mantra (or two) each month with correct pronunciation

  • have a conversation about word meaning and context

  • enjoy a group chanting practice

This workshop is for you if:

  • you have a hard time focusing in seated meditation and would to develop greater concentration

  • you enjoy other forms of chanting and want to try something new

  • you're a yoga teacher or student looking to better understand mantras that you've heard

  • you've been interested in Sanskrit chanting but didn't know where to start

Śri is trained (and continues to train) within a living lineage of Vedic chanting from South India and is so excited to share this beautiful tradition. Click to listen to this month's chants: Saha Na Vavatu - invocational mantra to chant at the beginning of a class or practice. Purnamadah - shanti (peace mantra) to chant anytime.

Come as you are. All are welcome. This class requires a workshop pass. Members receive a 10% discount. Register Here.
