Why Aerial Yoga?

We offer Aerial Yoga as a way to bring space into the body and decompress the spine with lightness, fun and laughter that we sometimes forget is also necessary for our wellbeing. Aerial yoga allows us to feel the freedom of flight and the weightlessness of anti-gravity as we lean in and lengthen the tighter muscles and connective tissues in the body. It’s also just plain fun!

Forever Wild Yoga offers a variety of different types of aerial yoga (watch the video below to learn more!). We use hanging silks (also referred to as hammocks) which offer support and freedom of movement as we move into poses that help lengthen and decompress the spine. Aerial Yoga offers supported and safe inversions, encourages trust, self confidence and allows you to let go. Aerial is great for those who weight-train, sit still still all day, or for anyone looking to bring length, strength, and a deep stretch to their body. Come fly, laugh, and play with us!

  • Lay in an aerial hammock, cocooned and gently swaying above the ground, while being guided through the Yoga Nidra meditation.

Yoga Nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ is a meditative practice that invites a deep state of physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. In this workshop you will be guided into the dreamlike space between sleep and wakefulness— into a state of deep relaxation where breathing and thoughts are slowed while laying in an aerial hammock-gently swaying and cocooned just above the ground.

This workshop is appropriate for beginners and all levels. One hour of this practice is equivalent to 4 hours of regular sleep and helps lower stress, improve mental clarity, and increase energy. A workshop pass is required.
